Life is unpredictable sometimes, even with the best laid plans, and sometimes the road will lead us to places we never imagined! I was a special educator with a job that I adored. My three children were young, and there were few options for quality child care in my small community. I was at a crossroad, and recognized that I had the skills and knowledge to change the narrative to provide my children, and other parents in our community, with a new option for child care. I embarked on a two-year journey, and in 2010, The Imagination Station was born. I opened my first location with 2 employees, and one part time paying client. 13 years later, we now have two locations with 38 employees that can serve up to 240 children! With my teaching background, I have always been the one to handle all employee training and professional development, and it was one of my favorite parts of my job! Until recently, I never realized that what I was doing had a name...Instructional Design. I decided to learn everything I could about ID and ended up enrolling in the Applied Instructional Design Academy. I have absolutely loved being able to dive deeper into Instructional Design and put all the pieces together. I have learned so much, am having a blast bringing what I am learning back to The Imagination Station, and seeing the effect it has on my employees and my business. When I suddenly found myself at another crossroad, I decided to become a full time Instructional Designer.
I am a very proud single mom to three amazing kids. Marisa is a junior at Penn State, Maia is a freshman at Ramapo College, and Mikey is a sophomore in high school. Together we enjoy going to concerts, binging Netflix, listening to music, heading to the beach, trying out new recipes and playing with our cat, Neville Longbottom. I enjoy reading, going to the batting cages, cooking, and spending time with all my family!
